Notes to participants
SUPPORT ON ARRIVAL
A vehicle will be available at the airport for transfer to the Hotel. A driver or hostesses with “APS” sign will be at the arrival gate. This is valid ONLY for those who are sponsored by the Organizing Committee or indicated their arrival time to the Organizing.
Participants from out of the ECOWAS area need a visa to enter Côte d’Ivoire. If you have not an embassy in your country, you can use this online application to get the visas at arrival.

An invitation letter will be sent to you if that is not the case yet.
Participants will be staying at Free world hotel, or at Residence M’Maya, both 40 min from the Airport
A room is already booked for all sponsored participants and all those who requested that you at these hotels at negotiated rates. If you booked directly online, please let us know as soon as possible (firstname.lastname@example.org) for double checking as we were reported that some online bookings to not got through

The hotels will have the list of all participants. Extras (telephone, drinks, dinner etc) must be paid at reception.
The cost of the room (which is on a bed & breakfast basis) is XOF 23,000 / or $ US 40 per night at Free World Hotel and XOF 30,000 /or $ US 51 at Residence M’Maya.
The meeting will be held in the Free World Hotel and at an extension of University Felix Houphouët-Boigny (called Pôle Scientifique) at Bingerville in the Abidjan suburb; The Pole scientifique is 20 min walk from Free World shuttles will be organized at indicated times. The detailed programmes of these shuttles will be available at the Hotels

A wireless connection is available free of charge.

Please note that the official language in Côte d’Ivoire is French
Participants may have dinner at their respective Hotels (Free world hotel/ Residence Maya). However, you are advised to check with organization members in case you want to leave the hotel.
On arrival; please submit your tickets to Mariama Barry to enable us to reconfirm your return flights and help for transport to the airport. We might not be able to organize shuttles for those who leave beyond 28 July. The costs for a a^taxi to the airport average XOF 10,000, i.e. $ US 17.
COFFEE / TEA BREAKS and LUNCHES
Coffee and tea will be served during the morning and afternoon breaks at the meeting venue.
Each participant must take the breakfast in his hotel.
Lunch will be served within the same venue of congress

The currency used in Côte d’Ivoire is CFA (1 $ US = XOF 590).
You may get some cash in the local currency from an ATM machine at the airport (visa cards and Mastercards are accepted).
You may also change money at the airport if you bring some cash in foreign currencies. Just tell the driver or the hostesses who will welcome you at the airport.

YELLOW FEVER VACCINATION
International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever is required upon arrival from all countries at the Airport in Abidjan Côte d’Ivoire
The average temperature is 29° degrees centigrade.
While most of the visits to Côte d’Ivoire are trouble free, you are advised to exercise a high level of vigilance in public areas.
