The Yopougon City Council and the Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, handed over a brand new canteen to the Adiopodoumé school group. This was in the presence of administrative and religious authorities and parents of students in the said locality.

This canteen is equipped with tables and benches, a modern kitchen, a storage room and kitchen equipment. It will be able to accommodate and serve hot and balanced meals for more than 400 pupils every lunchtime, for the happiness and well-being of the youngest pupils, with a view to boosting and impacting their school results.

This donation was possible thanks to the twinning between the Commune of Yopougon and the Canton of Basel in Switzerland. "In its partnership facilitation strategy, the CSRS contacted the Canton of Basel in Switzerland. We proposed to this canton to develop this partnership with Yopougon, so that it is not only through research that we impact the life of communities but that we can take actions with high social impact. And the canton of Basel agreed, as did the Yopougon town hall. We sincerely thank the Yopougon town hall for having accepted the stakes of such a twinning", said the Director General of CSRS, Professor Inza KONE, just before inciting the Director of this primary school inspectorate as well as all his staff and the managers of the canteen, to make good use of it.

It should be noted that the Adiopodoumé school group had not benefited from such a jewel since 1993. It has a total of 1,350 pupils and 33 teachers, 28 of whom are women and 5 men. The work was carried out by the company IBTP (Ivoire Bâtiment et Travaux Publiques).
