CSRS/Governance: the next Chief executive officer introduced to the employees and to researchers

The next Director General of the Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques en Côte d’Ivoire (CSRS) was introduced on Thursday, December 7, 2017 during the traditional meeting of the employees and researchers of CSRS. The successor of Professor Bassirou Bonfoh was revealed to be Professor. Inza Koné, current director of Research and Development (DRD) at the CSRS and President of the African Primatological Society (APS). His mandate will begin on the 1st of July, 2018. On October 15th, 2017, an international call for candidates for the recruitment of a new Director General of the CSRS was launched by the Board of Directors (BD) of the CSRS. Based on the evaluation of the pool of candidates, four candidates were short-listed and evaluated during the last BD meeting held from the 4th to the 5th December 2017. Followed themselves from there by the interviews with each candidate. The evaluation proceeded in two stages starting with the presentation of research projects by the candidates in front of the BD members and the employees and researchers of the CSRS. The second phase consisted in an interview behind closed doors between BD and the candidates. After two days of intense work, the BD of the CSRS concluded to choose Professor Inza Koné as next Director General of the CSRS.
