📚 Conference Sub-themes and the Strategic Role of Public-Private Partnerships
🌾 Sub-theme 1. Food Security and Resilient, Green Agriculture
Multipartite cooperations to transform agri-food systems sensitive to the conservation and sustainable valorization of Biodiversity and ecosystem resources
In Côte d'Ivoire, agricultural activities are responsible for nearly 62% of deforestation. Cropping systems, mainly extensive and export-oriented agriculture (cocoa, rubber, oil palm, cashew), are the major drivers of forest destruction and biodiversity erosion in the territory.
To address this, PPPs could constitute an essential lever to modernize agricultural value chains, integrate technological innovations, improve access to inputs, and stimulate the adoption of agroecological practices. It will be a matter of rethinking productive and competitive food systems that are sensitive to biodiversity preservation and favorable to the promotion of ecosystem resources (sustainable ecotourism, biotechnology, ecological restoration, and environmental monitoring systems).
This sub-theme will explore how collaboration between public institutions, agri-food companies, farmers' organizations, and research centers can strengthen resilience, reduce climate vulnerability, preserve biodiversity, promote natural resources, and ensure sustainable food security.
🏥 Sub-theme 2. Health and Well-being: Partnership Models to Consolidate the One Health Approach
In a context of increasing health risks, PPPs are essential to strengthen disease surveillance, support biomedical innovation, improve access to health services, and integrate human, animal, and environmental dimensions.
This sub-theme will focus on the potential of public-private alliances to implement One Health strategies, develop diagnostic solutions, and strengthen local capacities.
🤝 Sub-theme 3. Social and Economic Innovations at the Service of Societies
Co-construction of inclusive solutions through science and economic actors
This sub-theme will analyze how PPPs can catalyze social innovations, foster entrepreneurship, promote technologies adapted to local needs, and strengthen community participation. Cross-sector collaborations accelerate the dissemination of innovations, improve local governance, and stimulate the social and solidarity economy.
🤖 Sub-theme 4. Capacity Building and Artificial Intelligence at the Service of Research
Strategic alliances for competitive African science
Training, access to advanced technologies, and data governance require structuring partnerships. This sub-theme will highlight the role of PPPs in skills development, research digitalization, the integration of AI into scientific practices, and the provision of cutting-edge infrastructure. These partnerships are essential to sustainably position African research in the global knowledge economy.
🌍 Official Languages
The official languages of the conference are French and English. Arrangements will be made for simultaneous English-French translation of all plenary sessions and most parallel sessions.
