CSRS Meeting – Yopougon Town Hall
On Wednesday 21 October 2026, at Yopougon Town Hall, the Director-General of the CSRS, Professor Jérémie Zoueu, accompanied by Dr Salimata Berthé, Dr Étienne Kouakou and Dr Ariane Amin, was received by the Mayor of Yopougon, Mr Adama Bictogo, who was flanked by members of his town council.
The aims of this visit were to formally introduce the new Chief Executive to the Mayor of the local authority hosting the organisation, to reaffirm the CSRS’s commitment to supporting the local authority through its expertise and network of partners, and to strengthen a partnership that has spanned 75 years.
Professor Jérémie Zoueu gave a brief overview of the CSRS’s remit, particularly its community service work, as well as the Centre’s research programmes, including the YopouLab project. He explained that these programmes could serve as tools to support the seven strategic pillars of the local authority project spearheaded by the Mayor.
The Mayor, Mr Adama Bictogo, welcomed this initiative, praising its relevance and alignment with his development priorities.
The discussions highlighted areas of common ground and led to an agreement to hold a technical working session dedicated to the implementation of the YopouLab project, as well as to reviewing the activities proposed by the CSRS for the benefit of the municipality. Scheduled for 2 November 2026 at Yopougon Town Hall, this session will provide an opportunity to set out the specific actions to be undertaken as part of the CSRS’s community service remit.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening the partnership between the two institutions.
