CSRS - Celebration of the International Women's Rights Day - The DG offers a mini day care center to the women of the Center.

As part of the International Women's Rights Day, celebrated on March 8, the CSRS decided to celebrate its women researchers and employees.

These festivities began Tuesday morning with a coffee break whose theme was: "Equal opportunity for a sustainable future in Côte d'Ivoire". A topic in perfect symbiosis with the one that the UN has chosen this year. The good weather at the beginning of the afternoon, allowed the brave women of this institution to meet in the room Norbert Béhi, around the four members of the steering committee, in order to unroll the string of activities planned for this ceremony.

Very enriching scientific presentations, made by Mr. Clément GBA and Stéphane BABO, debates, cordial exchanges and even sharing of experiences have furnished this ceremony of the IWD. Following all these exchanges, Dr. Estelle KABRAN, responsible for the Estelle KABRAN, in charge of the CSRS gender unit, introduced the members of this unit. She ended her speech by announcing a symposium on "Gender and Sustainable Development in Sub-Saharan Africa" which will be launched at the end of March 2022.

This initiative was highly appreciated by the Director General, Inza KONE, who was named "Gender Champion" by the speakers, because according to him, gender should be a credo at CSRS. He thus encouraged the women of his institution to be ambassadors of gender promotion within the CSRS and better, at the regional and international level, in the image of the institution they embody. He therefore formalized the establishment of the gender unit, paving the way for the institutionalization of a gender policy. This policy will complement the list of existing policies.

Moreover, the "gender champion", Prof. Inza KONE, sensitive to the grievances and concerned about the well-being of CSRS women who constitute an essential link in the functioning of the structure, plans to equip the Center with a mini day care center during this year 2022.

The women welcomed this initiative of the DG and expressed their infinite gratitude for all the efforts and actions of the Management Committee, namely besides the Director General, Dr. DAO Daouda, DGA, and Prof. KOUDOU Benjamin, Director of Research and Development, Mrs. SALL Khady, the Administrative and Financial Director of the CSRS.

This ceremony brilliantly animated by Mrs. Esther YOHOU and Ines ABEY, was enhanced by the presence of some men of the Center who did not want to remain on the sidelines of this celebration.

The International Women's Rights Day, it should be recalled, is an opportunity for women all over the world to make their voices heard, as it is the case every year, for the respect of their rights, a better empowerment and especially a better representation in society.
