HDSS TAABO - Recreation and Sports Day - Wednesday, December 14, 2022

On the initiative of the CSRS sports club, the employees and sports researchers of the institution set down their bags on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, in the peaceful locality of TAABO.

Upon their arrival in Taabo, the guests were very well received by their colleagues of HDSS Taabo. Mr. Mathieu Kouakou, representing the Management who could not make the trip, conveyed to the team the words of the Management.

Then, the guests were instructed by Dr. Siaka Koné and Dr. Bognan Koné on the thermotherapy project and all the other activities carried out in the HDSS for the well-being of the communities.

The whole delegation then went to the General Hospital of Taabo, more precisely to the Buruli ulcer treatment center where they received the honors of the General Director of the health establishment and its health staff. This visit to the Buruli ulcer patients allowed the employees and researchers to see the effectiveness of the care of the patients and especially the quality of care administered by the nursing staff. With tears in their eyes and having become aware of the fragility and vulnerability of human beings, the delegation left on a sad note, promising to provide all kinds of support to these patients.

Following the sumptuous meal offered by the employees of HDSS Taabo to their guests, at the CIE canteen, the sportsmen and women stormed the beautiful lawn of the CIE stadium to start the hostilities. A soccer tournament, shoot-outs, games of checkers, Ludo, awale, cards were on the program of this meeting.

Placed under the sign of cohesion and fraternity, this recreational and field day pitted four teams against each other, namely the HR team and the DRD team (men), the DAF team and the DRV team (women). After hard-fought matches, it is the female DAF team and the male DRD team with respective captains Ms. Chrystelle Konan and Mr. Djibril Dosso, who came out winners of the tournaments, on scores of 2 to 1 for the ladies and 4 to 1 for the men.

Talents were also discovered through the games of awale, checkers, Ludo and shootout.

Beyond the festive and recreational spirit, this day was rich in discovery and emotions!
