A view of the high-performance Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM)

A brand-new electron microscope was donated by scientific and technical partner Nestlé to the Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques on Wednesday November 22.

This high-performance Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) will generate high-resolution 3D images by scanning the surface of samples to provide data on microstructural properties. This includes precise information on shape, size, proportions, composition and texture (layout, orientation). Fields of application include biology, chemistry, physics, materials science and R&D (research and development) industries.

Prof. Inza Koné, Director General of CSRS, was deeply moved by this mark of high esteem, and on behalf of the entire management of the institution, expressed his satisfaction and gratitude to the donors, promising to make very good use of it. During the reception of this jewel, the Centre's CEO was joined by the DGA, Doc. Daouda Dao, DAF Khady Sall, Profs. Mamidou Koné and Georgette Konan, Prof. Charlemagne Nindjin representing Prof. Tidiani Koné of the DGRI and Mr. Aimé Sanhoun.

This important Nestlé donor delegation of ten people was led by Dr. Stefan Palzer, Technical Director, responsible for innovation, technology and R&D.
