On Tuesday, June 16, 2026, CSRS researchers and staff took part in the traditional meeting with Prof. Jürg Utzinger and several members of the Board of Directors prior to the second Board meeting of 2026.

In addition to Prof. Utzinger, Prof. Inza Koné (CSRS Director General), Prof. Christine Ouinsavi (representative of research institutions in the subregion), Jérémie Zoueu (incoming CSRS Director General), Jürg Fischer (Secretary General of the Swiss Academy of Natural Sciences—SCNAT), Mr. Daniel Nurse of Swiss TPH (a guest of Prof. Utzinger), and Ms. Khady Sall (CFO of CSRS), whose presence lent a special significance to this meeting.

In a friendly atmosphere, this gathering provided an ideal setting for dialogue, information sharing, sound advice, and strengthening ties between leadership and all teams.

It was an opportunity for representatives of the researchers’ and employees’ associations, as well as the staff representative, to express their appreciation and gratitude to Prof. Inza KONE for the inspiring leadership he has demonstrated throughout his eight years at the helm of the institution. As for Prof. Jérémie Zoueu, they wished him every success in his new role while pledging their full cooperation to guide the institution toward new horizons.

This was a meaningful moment that underscored the importance placed on internal communication and institutional cohesion.
