The 4th and final closing meeting of the MARIGO project steering committee was held (online and face-to-face) this Monday morning, May 19, 2025, in the Norbert Behi room, in the presence of all stakeholders (researchers, representatives of MEMINADER, IRD and the European Union). The meeting opened with words of welcome from CSRS Director General Professor Inza Koné. He expressed his satisfaction with the quality of the partners, CIRAD and IRD, and with the smooth running of the project, which has opened the door to new collaborations.

"The CSRS will continue to play its part in initiatives and collaborative projects involving key players in the world of research, for the well-being of all project beneficiaries. Of course, the project is coming to an end, but the students and researchers will continue to write dissertations, provide support and produce scientific articles, so that the results obtained in this collaborative approach can be effectively applied," he said before closing his remarks.

Chaired by the project coordinator, Dr. Thibaud Martin, the steering committee meeting aimed to take stock of the activities carried out in 2024, assess the results obtained and present the various deliverables and products resulting from the project.

For information, the MARIGO project, led by a consortium of research and development partners led by CIRAD, aimed to promote agro-ecological transition in peri-urban areas and contribute to a sustainable and productive transformation of agriculture and food systems in Côte d'Ivoire. It lasted 4 years and was funded by the European Union under the DeSIRA initiative, to the tune of 2 million euros.
