Meeting at the German Embassy

The Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques en Côte d'Ivoire (CSRS) was received on Thursday, August 6, 2026, by His Excellency Mr. Matthias Veltin, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Côte d'Ivoire.

Led by Professor Jérémie T. Zoueu, Director General, and accompanied by Professor Inza Koné, former Director General, the CSRS delegation discussed with the Ambassador the prospects for strengthening scientific cooperation between the CSRS and Germany.

After commending the collaborations already established with GIZ, particularly in the areas of sustainable development, biodiversity, and the energy transition, discussions focused on several new initiatives, including the creation of an Agri-FabLab in Bringakro, strengthening a community-based management model for protected areas, empowering women in the vicinity of the Dohouan station, and strengthening partnerships between the CSRS and German research institutions.

As the scientific arm of Swiss cooperation in West Africa, the CSRS puts its expertise, infrastructure, and international accreditations to work in support of research, innovation, and sustainable development at the regional level.

The CSRS thanks His Excellency Mr. Matthias Veltin for his warm welcome and the fruitful discussions, which open up new prospects for cooperation between German institutions and the Center.
