📝 Call for Abstracts
The African Primatological Society (APS) invites students, researchers, and conservation practitioners to submit abstracts on African primates for presentation at the 4th APS Congress. The congress aims to promote the conservation of African primates through sharing research results and networking among primate conservation stakeholders.

⚠️ Note: Please use the official template to prepare your abstract before submitting it via the online form. Abstracts must be submitted before the May 31, 2026 deadline.

📐 Abstract guidelines
- 📝 Format: Write your abstract in Times New Roman, font size 12 pt, with justified text.
- 📏 Word limit: maximum of 300 words.
- 📄 Structure for oral and poster presentations:
- Title — Times New Roman, bold, size 12 pt, centered
- Presenting author*, Co-authors — Times New Roman, size 10 pt, centered
- Affiliation — Times New Roman, size 10 pt, centered
- Email address — Times New Roman, size 10 pt, centered
- Preference — indicate oral or poster presentation
- 🖼️ Poster presentations: Once accepted, posters must be prepared to occupy a wall space of 1 m × 1 m.
- 🎤 Oral presentations: Each oral presentation will last 15 minutes, including time for questions and comments.
- 👨⚖️ Programme Committee: Reserves the right to make the final decision on the format of accepted contributions.
- 🔢 Submission limit: Authors may submit a maximum of two abstracts as presenting author.
- ✅ Registration requirement: All presenting authors must register for the congress to be included in the programme.
🎪 Call for symposia and panel proposals
In addition to individual abstracts, the 4th Congress of the African Primatological Society (APS) invites proposals for:
- 📌 Organized symposia — 3 to 5 speakers on a specific theme, 90 minutes.
- 🗣️ Roundtables or debates — 60 to 90 minutes, featuring field and community voices.
📋 Proposal requirements
- A brief justification (maximum 200 words) outlining the theme and its relevance.
- Individual abstracts for each speaker must be prepared following the congress abstract guidelines.
The programme committee will review all proposals and reserves the right to make the final decision on acceptance and format.
